Editor and Publisher Jeff Wong is a U.S. Marine veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars who launched DCCommuteTimes.com in January 2017. His first career was centered on journalism in Los Angeles, where he worked as a reporter and editor at The Associated Press and briefly at the publishing company Reed Elsevier in the 1990s. He was previously a defense consultant for public-sector clients including the Joint Staff, Army PEO-Missiles and Space, Defense Business Transformation Agency and the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory. He holds a BA in print journalism from the University of Southern California and an MA in security policy studies from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University.
Jeff’s commuting travails in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., inspired him to launch DCCommuteTimes.com. His mission is to provide a one-stop shop for commuter news, real-time transit information and lifestyle content that helps them get to work on time, return home quickly to family and friends, and enjoy life along the way.
When he’s not scanning the roads and railways for potential delays, he enjoys spending time with his family.
