Fredericksburg Bridges to Undergo Upgrades

Drivers in the Fredericksburg area should get used to lane closures on a number of bridges in the area as part of a broad upgrade project that will last nearly two years.

VDOT said the work will not force the closure of any bridges but could lead to intermittent single-lane closures. Work has already begun and is scheduled to last through February 2020.

Here are the impacted bridges:

King William County

Route 360 over Moncuin Creek
(Work has begun)

Caroline County

Route 207 over Polecat Creek

Essex County/Richmond County: Downing Bridge

Route 360 over Rappahannock River

Gloucester County

Route 641 over Sarah Creek

Stafford County

Route 17 northbound and southbound over Deep Run near the Fauquier County line
