Work crews will continue installing beams at the Jones Branch Connector Bridge this week, forcing some overnight lane closures on the outer loop of the Capital Beltway in Virginia.
The closures will impact lanes from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning Tuesday and extending through Friday.
Here’s what drivers can expect:
- Southbound I-495 will be restricted to the two left lanes near Jones Branch Drive. There may also be periodic, total lane closures from midnight to 4 a.m. lasting 20 minutes.
- The ramps to the 495 Express Lanes to Jones Branch Drive will be closed.
- The ramp from eastbound Dulles Toll Road to the outer loop will close periodically for 20 minutes at a time.
This work is part of the broader Jones Bridge Connector project, which is expected to be complete late this year or early 2019. The half-mile project connects the interchange of the I-495 Express Lanes and Jones Branch Drive to Scotts Crossing Road.
