The District Department of Transportation says it is making progress in upgrading tricky intersections in its efforts to eliminate traffic fatalities.
DDOT said it has completed improvements at five intersections, with more to come. The upgrades include new signage, better signaling and pavement markings. The improvements are designed to reduce conflicts at the intersections and help the District achieve its “Vision Zero” goal of no traffic deaths or serious injuries by 2024.
The intersections that recently got upgrades include:
- Pennsylvania Avenue & 15th St NW
- Pennsylvania Avenue & 26th St NW
- E St & 20th St NWI (Eye) St & 17th St NW
- C St & 14th St NW
