The Metropolitan Police Department has announced widespread travel and parking restrictions related to the March for Our Lives rally on March 24.

The march is expected to bring hundreds of thousands of people into the city to support gun control reforms, with the largest crowds on the march route along Pennsylvania Avenue from 3rd street to 12th streets.

Large crowds are also expected as part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, prompting officials to plan for a potentially record-setting mass of people.

While the March for Our Lives officially begins at noon, large numbers of people are expected to come into the city much sooner. Road closures related to the March for Our Lives will begin as early as Thursday and could extend through Sunday evening.

Police also said that the Federal Triangle Metro Station will be closed during the event and that one entrance to Judiciary Square will be closed.

DC Police said it would offer more detail on traffic plans at a press briefing Tuesday.
