How to Get to Capital One Arena

Have tickets for the Capitals, Wizards or a concert at Capital One Arena, but don’t want to get stuck in traffic?

Not to worry, commuters - we’ll get you there without giving you a headache or getting you stuck in gridlock.

Location

Capital One Arena is located in the heart of downtown Washington, DC, just north of the National Mall, in an extremely busy part of town. It sits astride the famous Chinatown pagoda and is just down the street from the Washington Convention Center.

Metrorail

The closest Metro Station is Gallery Place/Chinatown - if it’s raining, you’ll barely get wet as you walk to the arena. Three other stations are within walking distance: Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter, Metro Center and Federal Triangle.

Ridesharing

Capital One Arena and Uber have teamed up to make getting a ride out of the area a bit easier.

When you’re ready to request a ride, exit the arena and head to one of the suggested pickup locations on 6th and 7th Streets. After opening the app, you’ll be prompted to choose a designated Uber pickup zone. Select the cross-streets and confirm your pickup location.

Parking

If you insist on driving yourself to the arena, street parking is available but very scarce on a good day. If you insist on driving yourself, consider using Spothero, which partnered with Capital One Arena for reserved spots in nearby parking garages.

Bicycling

There are Capital Bikeshare docks at the following locations:

  • 7th & F Sts NW in front of the National Portrait Gallery
  • 9th & G St. NW in front of the MLK Library
  • 8th and H Sts. NW
  • 11th and F Sts. NW
