In addition to the normal construction, detours, and other obstacles, drivers in the District will soon encounter road striping activities.

The District Department of Transportation will begin striping roads and laying down other pavement this month, as long as temperatures allow.

Ideally, conditions for road striping should be sunny and above 45 degrees. When necessary, crews will lay down temporary tape until stripes and markings can be permanently applied.

DDOT will offer an update on planned road striping on its website. Be alert for road crews as the weather warms up. If you are parked in areas where work is planned, be aware of signs indicating when you should move your vehicle.

Do you know of any roads or intersections in desperate need of new markings?
