Drivers in Columbia will see a noticeable change to one of the area’s busiest intersections.

The crossing at Guilford Road and Gerwig Lane will turn into a four-way traffic stop, with work likely to be completed on Tuesday, July 17.

“Recent studies have shown that traffic volume continues to increase in this area, making the change necessary to improve safety for turning traffic at the intersection,” Howard County officials said in a statement.

Anyone with questions about the intersection project is asked to contact Lisa Brightwell of Howard County’s Public Works Customer Service. at 410-313-3440 or email
