The Montgomery County Department of Transportation is resuming its work on the MD 355 Crossing Project near the National Institutes of Health, and could close lanes on Rockville Pike this week.
MCDOT said there will be some closures of southbound lanes of Rockville Pike between NIH’s Gateway Drive and Woodmont Avenue. Work will happen from July 23 to July 27 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and then 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
The lane closures are needed so crews can reconstruct sidewalks and storm sewers as part of the MD Crossing Project, which involves building a pedestrian underpass and deep elevator at Medical Center Metro station. The overall project is expected to be done in 2020.
