Police have arrested a D.C. man Wednesday for allegedly robbing taxicab drivers at knifepoint over the past year.
Thomas Maynard Parker, 26, of Northeast D.C., was charged with three counts of armed robbery (knife) for the three incidents, which spanned from December 2016 through this past weekend, the Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement.
Parker allegedly threatened the cab drivers and demanded their cell phones, money or other property. He used a knife during the two most recent incidents on Aug. 23 and Sept. 2 - which both occurred in the 3500 block of A Street in Southeast D.C., the MPD said.
The first robbery occurred in the 5500 block of Hayes Street in Northeast D.C., police said.
