MARC Commuters Endure Delays, Cancellations

Commuters on the MARC Penn Line endured a series of delays and cancellations that impacted trains through most of Thursday morning.

The trouble began with a 45 minute delay of the 4:50 a.m. train out of Baltimore’s Penn Station, later contributing to delays of trains coming out of Washington.

The 6:15 a.m. train out of Union Station reported a 30-minute delay, while the 7:40 a.m departure from Baltimore was also delayed by a half hour.

The 9:05 a.m. departure from Union Station was cancelled due to mechanical problems, and the 10:25 a.m. departure from Baltimore was also cancelled.

MARC has endured a challenging January due to cold temperatures and snow. Some trains experienced delays on Wednesday during the morning snowfall, and the rail service was forced to cancel some trains earlier in the month due to unusually cold temperatures.
