Area residents looking to make inexpensive trips to New York City now have a new option.
Starting on January 10, Megabus will now offer daily trips to the Big Apple from Annapolis for as little as $1 if you buy a ticket far in advance.
The bus service has been operating a route from Union Station in D.C. for years, but this could be a more convenient option for some travelers.
The new Annapolis-to-NYC route will depart from the MTA Park and Ride Lot at 275 Harry S. Truman Parkway. It will make a stop at the MTA lot in White Marsh, MD. There will be two departures and return trips each day. In New York, the bus drops off passengers at 7th Avenue and 27th Street and departs at 34th Street between 11th and 12th Avenue.
Megabus allows passengers to book tickets for as little $1 with an advance purchase; tickets get more expensive as you get closer to the departure date and top out at $39 each way, plus a $2.50 booking fee.
