Metro will extend SafeTrack Surge #13 by three days due to maintenance delays caused by last week’s winter weather.

Surge #13, which was originally scheduled to conclude April 9, will now end April 12, the transit agency said Wednesday. During this surge, Blue and Yellow line trains will run less frequently due to single-tracking through a 24/7 work zone between Braddock Road and Huntington/Van Dorn Street stations.

Blue Line service, which had been expected to return to normal on April 2, will remain modified for the duration of the surge.

Other impacts:

  • No Yellow Rush+ trains will operate during Surge #13.
  • Additional Yellow Line trains will operate between Reagan National Airport and Mt Vernon Square only.
  • Buses may replace trains after 8 p.m. south of Braddock Road to allow for movement of heavy construction equipment on Friday, March 24, and Wednesday, April 12.
