Bus riders in along the Columbia Pike corridor in Montgomery County could be getting a faster ride.

Riders should be aware of some service changes on select routes of RideOn buses in Montgomery County, including a new rush hour service along the Route 29 corridor.

The county said it will initiative some changes to RideOn bus routes beginning May 13.

The key change will be the addition of the new service every 15 minutes between Burtonsville and the Silver Spring Transit Center during the morning and evening rush hour. The limited-stop “Route 129” service will run from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

RideOn also said it will temporarily split Route 2 into two routes (Route 2A and 2B) in order to accommodate the reconstruction of the Lyttonsville Place Bridge.
