Are you confused about dockless bikeshare?
Residents and workers in Silver Spring and Takoma Park could get some help from special “ambassadors” charged with assisting dockless bikeshare users and collecting information.
The ambassadors are expected to begin work in the next month and will wear aqua-colored t-shirts. They will also be conducting brief surveys.
Currently, Montgomery County is allowing four operators—oFo, Spin, Limebike and Mobike—to operate in designated areas of Silver Spring and Takoma Park. Dockless bikeshare allows riders to locate and unlock a bike using an app, then leave the bike in any appropriate public area when done riding.
“Feedback received by the Ambassadors will be an important component in evaluating the dockless bikeshare demonstration program,” the Montgomery County Department of Transportation said.
