More I-95 Lanes Closed in Fredericksburg This Week

Drivers in Fredericksburg will have to endure another week of lane closures on I-95 in the overnight and morning hours as crews continue work on a highway overpass.

Lane closures, including some full traffic stops, will take place at various locations beginning as soon as 9 p.m. and extending until 10 a.m.

Full Lane Closures

Southbound I-95, Wednesday-Thursday - -Exit 118 (Mudd Tavern Road)

-Single lane to be closed at 9:30 p.m. on I-95 northbound followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. Then between midnight and 5 a.m., all northbound traffic will be blocked and detoured to the exit ramp, directed across Mudd Tavern Road, and guided onto the entrance ramp to the interstate. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Thursday.

Northbound I-95, Thursday – Friday - Exit 118 (Mudd Tavern Road)

Single lane to be closed at 9:30 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. Then between midnight and 5 a.m., all southbound traffic will be detoured to the exit ramp, directed across Mudd Tavern Road, and guided onto the entrance ramp to the interstate. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Friday.

The Virginia Department of Transportation is recommending the use of Route 301 or Route 1 as alternative paths.
