Cost Check: Memorial Day Weekend Gas Prices

Nearly a million drivers from the Washington area are expected to travel for the Memorial Day weekend, despite gas prices that are more than 50 cents higher than a year ago.

The average price for a regular gallon of gasoline in the Washington region is now $2.90, according to the American Automobile Association, and it’s above $3 in the District of Columbia.

Before you hit the road for Memorial Day travel, be sure to check gas prices in your area and potentially save a buck or two.
