Those traveling near the Pentagon should be aware of plans to close the ramp from eastbound Route 27 to northbound Route 110 beginning Monday night.

Weather permitting, road crews will perform bridge deck work from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night beginning January 8 through Thursday, January 11.

This means there will be a detour taking drivers along Route 27, the George Washington Memorial Parkway, and I-395 back to northbound Route 110.

The bridge deck work is part of a larger project to rehabilitate the Washington Boulevard Bridge over Jefferson Davis Highway. Motorists may have already seen evidence of this project underway. On Dec. 27, traffic shifted to the right on a newly constructed portion of the bridge. Additionally, a shared-used path for pedestrians and bicyclists on northbound Route 27 opened on Dec. 26.
