Drivers should be aware of road closures Tuesday and Thursday to accommodate work on the expansion of the Kennedy Center.
The northbound lanes of Rock Creek Parkway and Potomac Parkway at the Kennedy Center will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. both days.
All northbound vehicles will be diverted onto the I-66 Potomac Freeway. Southbound lanes will not be affected.
The closure extends from Ohio Drive to F Street NW. Construction crews will be pouring concrete as part of work to expand the Kennedy Center.
How to avoid this:
To avoid a traffic headache, take the I-66 Potomac Freeway, or take 23rd Street North to Virginia Avenue.
