Metro SafeTrack is moving from Arlington to Alexandria this weekend, as Surge #13 will single-track the Blue and Yellow Lines between Braddock Road and the Huntington/Van Dorn through the first week of April.
During this surge, which begins Saturday and ends April 9, no Yellow Rush+ trains will operate and additional Yellow Line trains will only operate between Reagan National Airport and Mount Vernon Square, Metro said. Meanwhile, Blue Line service will be restored on April 2.
This surge consists of two phases. During the first phase (March 4-April 1), there will be continuous single-tracking between the Braddock and Huntington/Van Dorn stations. Blue Line trains will run every 24 minutes throughout the day.
During the second phase (April 2-9), there will be continuous single-tracking only on the Yellow Line between King Street/Old Town and Huntington stations. Yellow Line trains between Huntington and Mount Vernon Square stations will operate every 24 minutes.
Weekend service will vary depending on other scheduled track work. Click here to learn more about weekend service.
