Motorists are going to have to get used to some lane closures all along South Capitol Street and Suitland Parkway this week.

The District Department of Transportation said there would be at least seven locations with temporary lane closures as crews perform a variety of tests and pre-construction work associated with the big South Capitol Street Corridor Project. The project involves the complete replacement of the Frederick Douglass Bridge and the reconstruction of I-295/Suitland Parkway interchange.

Many of the lane closures will take place overnight, but there will be at least two closures that could impact daytime drivers.
