Sunday Shout Shows: Rallies, Protests

For you freedom-of-speech and assembly lovers, we have at least four rallies or protests to satisfy your post-church appetite Sunday.

At noon, several conservative and libertarian groups will hold the “Freedom of Speech Rally,” also at the Lincoln Memorial. This event is headlined by alt-right darling Richard Spencer.

At 11 a.m., the D.C. Against Hate Rally will begin at the Lincoln Memorial as a counter-protest to the Freedom of Speech Rally. Participants will discuss recent hate incidents including the hanging of nooses in landmarks, museums and schools.

At noon, other conservative groups led by Roger Stone and Virginia gubernatorial candidate Corey Stewart will hold the “Rally Against Political Violence” outside the White House to protest recent acts of violence such as the shooting of House Majority Whip Steve Scalise. Try Farragut West or McPherson Square Metro Stations (Blue, Orange or Silver Lines).

Also at 12 p.m., the “Really Really Free Speech Rally” will begin in front of Metropolitan Police Department headquarters to protest against the conservative agenda and police brutality.
