Transform 66 Project Update, May 22: Gainesville Lane Closures Continue

Overnight lane closures on I-66 outside the Beltway will continue this week, impacting drivers in the Gainesville area.

The Virginia Department of Transportation said there will be road work resulting in lane closures on I-66 between Route 29 in Gainesville and Route 234 in Prince William County.

The three left lanes of the road will close each night from 8 p.m. and re-open by 5 a.m.

The roadwork is the latest relating to the I-66 Outside the Beltway project, with Express Lanes scheduled to open by 2022.
