For the second time in the last eight days, MARC train service has been disrupted after an Amtrak train struck a person on the tracks.
MARC suspended service on the Penn Line Tuesday morning after the incident, which took place around 9 a.m. near Bowie State. In this case, it was an Amtrak employee who was accidentally struck and killed.
Reduced service on the Penn Line resumed at about 10:40 a.m.
Metro said it would honor MARC tickets.
Tuesday’s incident follows a similar situation last Monday, when an Amtrak train struck someone on the tracks between Washington and New Carrollton.
