A key section of Rosslyn will see some major intersection upgrades after Virginia’s Commonwealth Transportation Board approved a $7.1 million contract.

The CTB said Ardent Company LLC of McLean could move forward with the improvements along North Lynn Street (Route 29), which include efforts to make the area more accessible for pedestrians and those with disabilities.

The Route 29 work is expected to be done by 2020 and will include:

  • Intersection improvements at Lee Highway and North Lynn Street; Fort Myer Driver and North Oak Street; North Lynn Street and Southbound Lee Highway; North Lynn Street and Northbound Lynn Highway; and Northbound Lee Highway and North Nash Street.
  • Wider sidewalks, a bike lane, new traffic signals, and curb improvements on North Lynn Street.
  • Widening and shifting the Custis Trail away from travel lanes.
