Who: OmniRide and the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority are hosting a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the kickoff of construction of the OmniRide Western Bus Maintenance and Storage Facility, which will service Prince William County, Manassas, Manassas Park and Fairfax County residents and the Northern Virginia business community.

Guest speakers will include:

· Martin E. Nohe, Chairman, Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, and Prince William County Coles District Supervisor

· Jennifer Mitchell, Director, Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation

· Ruth M. Anderson, Chair, Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission, and Prince William County Occoquan District Supervisor

· Jeanine M. Lawson, Prince William County Brentsville District Supervisor

What: OmniRide and the Authority are committed to reducing traffic congestion and improving mobility in Northern Virginia. Building a Western Bus Maintenance and Storage Facility will enable OmniRide to improve on-time performance, expand service and introduce new commuting options in the I-66 Corridor. Upon completion in 2020, the Facility will provide OmniRide with additional maintenance bays and parking for its bus fleet and enable buses serving western routes to be dispatched directly from there, resulting in greater efficiency.
